The Czech Nuke

Last June, six members of the Prague-based “Ztohoven” art group hacked a TV weather-cam and superimposed a nuclear explosion in the local mountains. At the time, they did this to make a statement, questioning the truthfulness and its credibility of what is seen on TV.

In December, they were awarded a cash prize of 333,000 koruna (US $18,350) by Prague’s National Gallery as an annual “young artist’s” award for the stunt.

Now they are being charged by local prosecutors with spreading false information, and face up to three years in prison.
