CitiBank IdentityMonitor
Remember this commercial? It’s a classic…
John Hargrave at Zug.com decided to test it out. He paid $9.95 a month for Citibank protection services, for several months on a credit card that normally had no activity at all. He then made a bunch of large, unusual purchases at places like Armani Exchange and Tiffany’s jewelry store. He bought large quantities of beer, and then went to Home Depot and bought a quarter ton of fertilizer, bleach, and gasoline (obvious bomb making materials).
He even signed the credit cards slips with the word “STOLEN”.
He sent a telegram to a Citibank vice president, telling her that the telegram was purchased with a stolen credit card, and that their IdentityMonitor service sucks.
What did he get for his $9.95/month protection, and all of his efforts?
Read the story here, on zug.com to find out. It is a GREAT story!!
