The $90 computer

NorhTec has developed a tiny computer called the MicroClient Jr. It boots directly off CF (Compact Flash), LAN or USB devices. It’s designed to hang on the back of an LCD monitor.
This little guy’s features include:
CPU - SiS550 200Mhz SoC (System-On-Chip), x86 compatible, fanless
AMI BIOS
128 MB RAM
VESA standard - mount to any LCD
No cooling fan or moving parts
Regular expansion ports - USB/Serial/LAN etc.
Small - only 115 x 115 x 35 mm

The base units don’t come with any software, but you CAN order one with MicroSoft’s XP Embedded, Linux, BSD, Windows CE, or QNX installed. With 128 MB of RAM, it’s not powerful enough to run any high end games, but it does work well for the basics - getting on the Internet, word processing, and spreadsheets. Monitor is not included in the price - but that’s still not bad for $90!
